It depends on how they say it. If they have a playful look, then it's just flirting and whatever. But otherwise, if a girl says this to me looking serious I just move on, I am not into a girl that is either not into me or pretends not to be into me.

"im glad thats mutually benificial because I hate that you are short or have blond hair or drink beer or whatever doesn't really matter" Then Change subject, "so anyway bla bla bla"

Whatever you do don't try qualify yourself and say shit like, yes I am i make $xxxx a day, and i have a cool car a big house, and exciting life i am totally your guy"

"Not my type" is a polite way of saying "you don't have the qualities I'm looking for in a man." She is not interested in you.

It kind of sucks because it doesn't give you any real feedback but even if she bluntly told you the whole truth, there wouldn't be much you could do about it anyway. There is either an attraction there or there isn't.
